Some find the thought of it yucky, or even vomitous. Others stomach it, only able to tolerate the taste by recalling the adulated long term effects. And I actually find it to be deliciously refreshing! But what are the real benefits of wheatgrass juice, if any? What are you really getting out of those little two ounce shots of liquefied grass juice at Jamba Juice that you must chase with an orange slice during every visit? I combed the web to find all of the dirt on this long-time favorite of the health conscious…

Chug! Chug! Chug!
WHAT THE PROPONENTS SAY
Where do I begin?! Experts cite a bevy of health pluses that can come from a shot of this liquid green sunshine.
But of course, in order to reap the many benefits that wheatgrass advocates extoll, wheatgrass juice must be consumed regularly. Pinch your nose because that could mean at least a couple of times per week!
WHAT THE SKEPTICS SAY
Holistic health expert Dr. Andrew Weil says there still isn’t enough evidence to support the claims of this “miracle” grass. “I don’t recommend its use other than as a source of minerals and vitamins. If you like wheatgrass and it appeals to you, fine. Drink it. But I don’t think it’s a substitute for 2.5 pounds of vegetables.”
Those who doubt the efficacy of wheatgrass and its advocates alike do agree on one thing–it’s an acquired taste! Dr. Weil continued, “I don’t like the way it tastes.”
